CIA raises controversy with a tweet on “Valentine’s Day”

A tweet published by the CIA on the occasion of “Valentine’s Day” sparked widespread controversy on social media.

And the CIA left social media users feeling somewhat uncomfortable on Valentine’s Day, as she said in a tweet: “Roses are red … the violets are blue … Happy Valentine’s Day from the CIA!”

The tweet followed a previous encrypted message that the agency posted earlier this week asking people to decode it.

Commenting on the tweet, Sebastian Gorka, a former Donald Trump administration official and long-time critic of the intelligence community, wrote in response: “Not serious.”

One of the tweeters commented on the tweet, saying, “Scary,” while another person said in response to what the agency published: “I have spent the entire past decade mastering the torture.”

On the other hand, some responded slightly more positively by offering “some love” to the CIA with their Valentine’s Day poems, with Naval Warfare correspondent David Larter saying, “I was expecting a better poem.”

It is worth noting that the CIA’s “Twitter” page is primarily dedicated to celebrating the agency itself and its history, but it often posts encrypted messages to users.
