Iga Świątek has demonstrated strong form on the hard courts of Cincinnati, securing her place in the tournament’s semi-finals for the third consecutive year. On her way to this stage, she defeated Anastasia Potapova, Sorana Cîrstea, and Anna Kalinskaya, though she has yet to advance to the final at this event.
Her opponent on Sunday evening will be Jelena Rybakina, who advanced after eliminating Aryna Sabalenka in the quarter-finals.
According to an analysis by tennis.com, the faster hard courts in Cincinnati favor Rybakina’s style of play. The outlet noted, “She has defeated Świątek four times, and two of those victories came on the Pole’s favorite surface, clay. With that in mind, Rybakina should have the confidence she needs to win this match.”
The publication also predicts Rybakina will meet Jasmine Paolini in the final. They favor Paolini in the other semi-final against Veronika Kudermetova, stating, “On all surfaces, Paolini is the better player than Kudermetova and has more experience in major tournaments… We are betting on Paolini.”
The match between Świątek and Rybakina is scheduled to begin Sunday at 7:00 PM, followed by the semi-final featuring Paolini and Kudermetova.
