Claudia forgot the science

Even before bursting as a social activist and then in politics, the professional profile of Claudia Scheinbaum (CS) was very congruent: At UNAM, she had a degree in Physics, a Master’s degree in Energy Engineering and a doctorate in Environmental Engineering, with extensive publications on environmental issues. and energy in academic and specialized journals. In accordance with that profile of her, López Obrador appointed her Secretary of the Environment in the government of the Federal District from 2000 to 2006.

From the Faculty of Sciences of the UNAM he adhered to the radical ideology of the left. As a student he actively participated in the CEU and later in the founding of the PRD. Apparently his interest in science waned after serving in López Obrador’s cabinet.

This brief review of CS’s history proves that, when not exercised, human capital rapidly depreciates and erodes. His radical ideology won over scientific training. As a politician, CS does not have a thought of its own. It is limited to being a sounding board for AMLO. What perhaps has written his political ideology and position of the great national problems? As Head of Government she has had a dismal performance. Can we mention at least one relevant achievement in some problem that afflicts the city? She has totally neglected her responsibility as a ruler, since all her efforts are dedicated to an illegal early political campaign.

There are three aspects that CS seeks with its pre-campaign: that it be widely known throughout the Republic; praise and please AMLO showing that it is the one that best represents the continuity of the 4T and that it can also ensure impunity and protection; and that they build a “presidential” image. Due to her lack of charisma, spontaneity and the fact that she is a lousy speaker in front of large audiences, she hired an international image expert. Her interventions on social networks lack content and are clumsy, such as having described Formula 1 as an event “pretty fifi, we are against privileges” and that it is an event that “costs a lot”. But CS does not account for how much her government spent for the “cultural” presentations in the Zócalo de Serrat and the narcocorrido musical band.

An illegal pre-campaign requires illegal financing. In the Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office, ample resources are generated, apart from legal income, such as “permits and protection” for drug dealing, prostitution, and the street trade of contraband, stolen goods, and fake products. They are a great source for a campaign. For this reason, it was so important for CS that Dolores Padierna win the Mayor’s Office. But surprisingly, she snatched it from Sandra Cuevas. The CDMX government also operates a huge budget in addition to twenty funds and trusts, which are susceptible to simulations to discretionally use resources for proselytizing purposes.

The electorate has to wake up and realize that a possible SC presidency would be to perpetuate the institutional and economic destruction of the country, with AMLO and his military pulling the strings of the puppet.
