Claudia Sheinbaum and members of the national financial sector hold a dialogue in favor of Economic and Social Development

• The Head of Government of the capital emphasized the urgency of increasing bank support for MSMEs, as well as reviewing insurance regulations.
• The meeting highlighted the Pension Reform of the current president López Obrador, which has international recognition.

Mexico City, October 20, 2022. Within the framework of the work groups carried out by the head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, a meeting was held this Wednesday with federal deputies, bankers and members of the sector national financial system, where various strategies were proposed for the benefit of economic and social development, as well as a series of initiatives to strengthen public policies and promote, as a whole, the well-being of the people of the capital.

Among the main topics that were presented at the meeting was the promotion of impact investment funds, in order to generate more successful Mexican companies and attract more foreign investment. In this context, the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, highlighted the important role of the AFORES as a result of the 2020 Pension Reform initiative; initiative of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that currently has international recognition and that allows 90% of workers to have access to a pension.

Likewise, the Head of Government of the capital emphasized the urgency of increasing bank support for MSMEs, as well as reviewing insurance regulations, since their current state of capitalization translates into higher prices for premiums; all this to the detriment of the development of this important sector of the Mexican economy.

The meeting, headed by the Federal Deputy Patricia Armendáriz, was attended by the deputies Miguel Torruco and Antonio Garay; the president of Invex, Juan Guichard Michel; Manuel Romo, CEO of CITIBANAMEX; Marcos Martínez Gavica, Chairman of the BMV Board of Directors; Bernardo González Rosas, president of AMAFORE; as well as the executives of AMSOFIPO, ASOFOM, Amexcap, Fintechs Association, among others.
