The National Human Rights Commission opened an investigation into alleged violations of fundamental rights, committed to the detriment of migrants who died and were injured on December 9 when a trailer overturned in Chiapas.
Through a statement, it was specified that CNDH personnel have already requested information from different institutions involved in the events, including the National Migration Institute (INM), the National Guard, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the Attorney General’s Office. state of Chiapas, which will be included in the respective file and, in due course, will determine what corresponds in law.

Yesterday morning, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed that an investigation is being carried out on the owners of the trailer that overturned on the Tuxtla-Chiapa de Corzo highway. Similarly, he indicated that despite the fact that they are “taking care of migrants so that these unfortunate accidents do not suffer” by stopping trucks and trailers, the heavy unit that transported these people in mobility did not go through any checkpoint.
