A Colorado law enforcement officer died over the weekend immediately after he was critically wounded when he fell from a40-foot bridge though pursuing suspects in a carjacking earlier this month, police stated.
Fountain Town Police Officer Julian Becerra was pronounced dead Saturday at Penrose Medical center in Colorado Springs, officers said. Becerra, who was 35, worked in the patrol division as a K9 officer. Fountain Metropolis is about 15 miles south of Colorado Springs.
Becerra, a four-and-a-50 percent calendar year veteran with the division, earlier served in the U.S. Air Drive. He is survived by his spouse and two young children.
