The most powerful version of Apple’s latest lineup is the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It packs amazing specs but is very expensive: it’s one of the most expensive phones on the market but is it also the best phone out there? There is no better way to understand it than to compare it with the best leading Android software. For this comparison, we have selected the most powerful brands from the most significant smartphone manufacturers by sales (along with Apple): Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G.

the design
IPhone 12 Pro Max, Huawei Mate 40 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G all feature stunning design. The first has a stainless steel frame and narrow bezels with a symmetrical appearance, and the second sets it apart from its competitors because of its extremely curved screen that allows replacing the physical keys with touch controls to regulate the volume. The third has a very high screen-to-body ratio, stainless steel bezel, and a single hole punch. In each case, you get amazing build quality and a waterproof device with IP68 certification, but the iPhone 12 Pro Max is water resistant to a depth of 6 meters, while the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G are 1.5 meters high. The iPhone 12 Pro Max design is the most modern, but my best is the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, despite it being the largest device of the trio.
Show
The most amazing screen belongs to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. First of all, it has a higher resolution of 1440 x 3088 pixels. Moreover, the refresh rate increases to 120 Hz, while in iPhone 12 Pro Max and Huawei Mate 40 Pro it stops at 60 Hz and 90 Hz respectively. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G has a wider diameter and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, while iPhone 12 Pro Max has a ceramic shield for better protection. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G and Huawei Mate 40 Pro both support a stylus (S Pen and M Pen 2 respectively) which allows handwriting and drawing at pressure levels of up to 4096.
Hardware and software
IPhone 12 Pro Max is powered by the most powerful and most efficient processor of the three: the Apple A14 Bionic that was built at 5 nm. Moreover, the high optimization of iOS makes the phone faster. Although it contains only 6 GB of RAM, the iPhone 12 Pro Max should be the most performing device out of the three devices. But in every case, we are talking about top-tier flagship smartphones with no limits in every scenario. You can play the most demanding games, use the most demanding apps, and you can do whatever you want. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G and Huawei Mate 40 Pro both run Android 10 out of the box, but the Huawei Mate 40 Pro will lack Google apps in the global market, which Huawei Mobile Services has replaced.
camera
Huawei Mate 40 Pro seems to offer the best camera performance. It’s not the most advanced device in this comparison for recording videos, but it clicks the best photos. But you don’t necessarily need to go for the Huawei Mate 40 Pro if you need a phone with a top camera: Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G and iPhone 12 Pro Max are still amazing camera phones and are even better at recording video.
the battery
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G has the largest battery, but battery life is not good. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro should be able to keep up a lot on a single charge thanks to its more efficient screen (Full HD + 90Hz refresh rate) and a more efficient chipset (Kirin 9000 processor built at 5nm). Unfortunately, no one has tested the iPhone 12 ProMax as it will be available for purchase starting in November. Huawei Mate 40 Pro supports the fastest battery charging technology.
price
IPhone 12 Pro Max starts at € 1289 / $ 1099, Huawei Mate 40 Pro is € 1249 / $ 1480 globally, and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G starts at € 1,309 / $ 1299. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra due to its advanced S Pen stylus and better screen, but battery life is disappointing. Huawei Mate 40 Pro has better cameras, while iPhone 12 Pro Max delivers higher performance.
