Members of the US Congress attached to the 2022 defense budget a memorandum calling for the consolidation of strategic relations between the United States and Qatar, and they valued Doha’s role in supporting Washington’s interests and national security.
The memorandum indicated that the United States and the State of Qatar share a strong, lasting and forward-looking strategic partnership, based on long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation, in The fields of security, defense and economics.
The memorandum added that the strong cooperation between the two countries enhances peace and stability in the Middle East region.
The memo considered that “Doha plays an important role of its kind, by hosting the Central Command of the US Air Force at Al Udeid Base, which contributes to the fight against terrorism.”
