University of Connecticut women’s basketball has suspended team activities after a member of the program tested positive for COVID-19, the team announced Monday.
The No. 3 Huskies will miss their first four scheduled games, including their appearance in the 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Challenge this weekend at Mohegan Sun Arena and the Big East Conference opener at Seton Hall on Dec. 6.
Team activities will remain on hold for at least 14 days and will resume when deemed safe by medical professionals. Schedule adjustments will be announced at a later date.
The news comes less than one week after the UConn men’s basketball program resumed team activities after reporting a positive COVID-19 team within their program on Nov. 4.
