As of today, a mass vaccination process against Coronavirus has started in Russia, and it will include all groups of the population who wish to do so.

The vaccination process is free of charge, and citizens can be vaccinated with “Sputnik V” or “EpiVac Corona” vaccine.

Vaccination operations began in Russia on December 10, 2020, and included workers in the medical sector and the educational field, as well as those suffering from chronic diseases, and other groups of the population. On January 13, President Vladimir Putin instructed to go to mass vaccination.

Then, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, who heads the operational headquarters for infection control, confirmed that everything is ready to go from mass vaccination to mass vaccination in the country, as of January 18.

According to her, by the end of January, about 2.1 million doses of the vaccine had been allocated for public circulation.

She stressed that Russia has sufficient resources to implement free vaccination for the population against the Corona virus.

For her part, Anna Popova, head of the Federal Authority for Consumer Rights and Citizens’ Welfare, said that vaccination against the Corona virus should be organized in Russia, in a way that allows the formation of herd immunity in the population with the beginning of autumn, when cold diseases begin to spread in the form of an epidemic.

She stated that, in the first year, vaccination could cover 60% of the country’s population.
