Corteva Agriscience buys Stoller Group for $1.2 billion

Corteva, a company with a presence in the agricultural and biotechnology sector, announced a purchase and sale agreement of the Stoller company for 1.2 billion dollars. Stoller maintains a presence in 60 countries around the world and earns an average of 400 million dollars per year from its operations.

With the acquisition of Stoller, Corteva intends to deliver and develop new biological tools for the agricultural sector.

Stoller is the second biologics acquisition for Corteva this year. The company announced weeks earlier that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Symborg, an expert in microbiological technologies based in Murcia, Spain.

Corteva plans to bring together the complementary technical and commercial strengths of Stoller and Symborg as part of its biologics strategy.

“Organic products provide growers with tools with sustainable advantages that complement crop protection technologies and, together, can work to address global challenges related to food security and climate change. Stoller represents leadership in the biologics industry given its commercial presence and potential for market expansion, while offering attractive growth and operating margins,” Corteva said.

The market for organic products is expected to grow by one digit year on year until 2035, representing approximately 25% of the overall crop protection market by 2035.
