(CNN) — Courteney Cox got by with a little help from her “Friends,” but she doesn’t say the same about doing drugs.
The “Friends” actress was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, referring to what Prince Harry wrote in his recently released autobiography, “Spare.” According to the Duke of Sussex, years ago, he stayed at Cox’s house and found “a box of black diamond mushroom chocolates in his fridge,” he said.
“She stayed here for a couple of days, probably two or three,” the actress said. “She is a very nice person.”
Cox noted that he hasn’t read the book yet, but “I want to, because I’ve heard it’s really entertaining.”
“But yes, they have contacted me about it,” he said. “I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t handing them out.”
Additionally, Cox’s fellow comedians and best friends Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow joined her to celebrate her star on the Walk of Fame.
“To be friends with Courteney is to be family with Courteney, and she’s responsible for all of that from the beginning,” Aniston said during the ceremony. “When we met her, she was immediately inclusive, warm, loving, interested in everything about you, and, you know, I was so nervous to meet her because she was such a big fan.”
Kudrow said Cox’s influence “really groomed us to become one of the closest, most caring, most understanding casts in, I will say, television history.”
Cox previously told the magazine Variety: “‘Friends’ taught me the importance of camaraderie and really sticking together.”
“These friendships were at the most important time of my life and we went through a lot together,” he said. “And he taught me to be there for each other. I know, that’s the song: ‘I’ll be there for you.’ But it is true”.
