The Scottish government will decide later whether to place some areas under its highest level of coronavirus restrictions. The places causing most concern are Glasgow, North and South Lanarkshire, East and West Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire – with a total population of about 1.8 million.
