New York (Trends Wide Business) – If you’ve ever dreamed of buying some DJ Khaled chicken wings, now luck smiles on you.
The music artist, whose business ventures have ranged from a deal with Weight Watchers to an attempt to sell gold furniture, is launching a virtual chicken wing brand called Another Wing in association with the Reef kitchen brand.
Starting Thursday, fans of buffalo wings and Khaled will be able to order Another Wing on Grubhub, Uber Eats, DoorDash and other delivery platforms. Khaled told Bloomberg in an email interview that water deliveries via jet ski will also be possible. “We will deliver by sea, with jet skis offering delivery alongside the ship,” he said.
In a video posted on his Instagram account, Khaled said that the brand will be launched in major cities around the world, including New York, Los Angeles, Dubai and London.
“Get another wing. And another. And another,” Khaled says in the video, in which he appears sitting behind a table laden with chicken wings, waffle fries and onion rings. “Because one wing is never enough.” The brand is available in more than 30 cities, according to Reef.
On the menu are boneless and boneless wings in various sauces, such as You Loyal! Lemon Pepper (hotter), Un Un Un Believable Buffalo (hotter) and Honey! Honey! Hot Honey (the spiciest). Side dishes include all kinds of fries, plus extra celery, and for dessert there are chocolate chip cookies.
Wings have been a very popular product during the pandemic, when people were craving a comfort food that would hold up well when delivered. With Another Wing, Khaled is following in the footsteps of companies like Brinker International, parent of Chili’s, and Applebee’s, which have launched their own virtual wing brands.
Reef, who partnered with Wendy’s and other food brands, is also in the trend of tapping into a celebrity to help boost their brands.
McDonald’s sales have been boosted by its celebrity dining platform, which recently struck a deal with Mariah Carey. Popeyes recently launched a hot sauce with Megan Thee Stallion, and Burger King has its own take on celebrity dining.
