Creation of new cooperatives will bring more benefits to the field: Ceagro Puebla

Puebla, Pue. The State Agricultural Council (Ceagro) spoke for the formation of more cooperatives in the state, currently having 43, after considering that they have given positive results so that producers obtain better benefits and reduce intermediaryism, “which only brings harm to the agricultural sector.”

Arthur With Villa, president of that organization, indicated that in the high seasons of products; For example, now with the sale of cempasuchil flowers for the Day of the Dead, it was possible to stop those who bought the planting up to 30% cheaper and then give it at the price they wanted in supply centers.

He mentioned that the organization of producers is taking this model to success, which leads to competitiveness in the different markets, and allows the search for others even outside the country.

He argued that from the training it is possible to conceive the cooperatives that help to obtain better commercial agreements as opposed to those negotiated individually.

The leader commented that by going from seven to 23 regions, identified with the update of the productive map, it was possible to have more participation of the peasant, as well as to detect the areas of opportunities outside the intermediary, which only causes losses.

The 43 cooperatives were taught to plan and organize, modernize their production processes, improve their communication techniques, in addition to making their human resources more efficient, among others, he explained.

With Villa he stressed that the field is a development enginewhich must be recognized for its historical and economic contribution to the entity, as well as its relevance as a supplier for agribusiness, which is the third largest generator of jobs.

He stressed that only under this scheme, producers can get out of the lag and stop their progress, since in the last five years it was reported that poverty increased to 60% in Puebla.

“In terms of small entrepreneurs and the social economy, those that represent the cooperatives, which have to be accompanied and create more with products that have high performance potential,” he said.
