During the last two years, thousands of companies around the world have seen their income and operations in general affected, as a result of the health contingency.
Facing a new, more contagious wave such as the Ómicron variant, the Scaling Up specialist and CEO of the Growth Institute, Daniel Marcos, pointed out that it is possible to scale your business even in times of crisis.
For Daniel, this is a time to generate an action plan and enhance leadership within a company.
“It is key to lay a solid foundation and help your company not only get through the crisis, but come out of it stronger. Once the situation is over, the companies that stand out will be those that have seen it as an opportunity. The worst thing business leaders can do right now is hide or wait for this to be over,” he said.
It is not the first time in my career, he said, that I have faced a crisis. In 2008 I had a mortgage bank in Austin, Texas with 120 employees when the crisis hit that took us out of the market. I was left with over $1 million in debt and looking back, I can say that I did not have a good company.
However, after this fall, Daniel Marcos He mentioned that he learned to get ahead through innovation because crises “put you to the test and change things about how you work in relation to your company.”
How to get out of the crisis?
● Surround yourself with a community of peers: A community of leaders and peers who understood the situation you are going through.
● Keep learning: Before the BoG program started, I was given a list of eight must-read books. I read all eight books and was blown away. It was as if the pages were a mirror reflecting everything in my business and in my life.
● Lean on mentors: Mentors guide and push you beyond what you can achieve on your own. Personally, I had amazing mentors like Verne Harnish and Salim Ismail.
By last, Daniel Marcos He pointed out that we must stop thinking about doing things “when this happens” and assume that this is reality, and it will be for many months: face the brutal facts.
“You are not alone or alone and we have to think and concentrate on the fact that in the end we will always come out stronger”, he pointed out.
