The Cuban government announced on Saturday that most of those arriving in the country will be subject to a week-long quarantine, starting from February 6.
She added that flights from the United States and some other countries will be reduced to no more than one flight per week for each airline.
The number of flights from the United States, Mexico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Haiti and a few other countries have been reduced this month and will be reduced further.
Tourists will stay in hotels at their expense, and residents will stay in special centers free of charge until a negative test result appears within five days.
Currently, the arrivals must arrive with a negative corona virus test result and perform another examination at the airport.
Cases of Covid-19 have jumped in Cuba since the reopening of airports began in November, and the number of cases increased to 13,000 in January, more than four times the monthly toll last year.
The number of deaths reached 213, at a rate of 0.87%, which is less than half the international and regional percentage.
The government says that more than 70 percent of the cases are directly or indirectly related to travelers, and most of them are Cubans living abroad, visiting their families and turning a blind eye to home quarantine rules.
