Cummins invests 8 million dollars in Mexico to strengthen its decarbonization

To strengthen its operations in Mexico in infrastructure towards decarbonization, Cummins invests 8 million dollars, in the search to reduce 25% the emission of polluting gases.

In order to achieve the energy transition, the brand invests globally close to 1,000 million dollars in innovation and development of technologies with ultra-low and zero emissions to provide our customers with cleaner energy in accordance with the needs of the market.

“Cummins’ approach is to encourage the development of new, clean technology. We are better positioned to support customers on their path to decarbonization, as we solve any business need with products that exceed expectations in terms of emission reduction and power,” said Jorge Machuca, leader of Cummins’ engine business for Latin America, at the frame of the Transport Expo 2022organized by ANPACT.

Only in Mexico, during the first half of 2022about 50% of the loading units sold have a Cummins engine with a mix of EURO V, EURO VI technologies and the EPA platform.

Among the technologies shown during the nineteenth edition of the largest fair of the transport industry in our country, the L9N gas engine stands out, as well as the ISL9, ISB6.7 and X15 diesel platforms, which are part of the solutions for cleaner energy promoted by the company for the Mexican market.

Cummins specified that its goals for 2030 which seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from current products by 25% and reduce emissions from products in the field by 55 million metric tons.
