The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad, received, on Sunday, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, First Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council in Sudan, accompanied by the Minister-designate of Foreign Affairs and Director of the General Intelligence Service.

The meeting discussed relations between the two countries and means of strengthening them, as well as developments in the situation in Sudan and in the region in general, especially the situation on the Sudanese-Ethiopian borders.
Dagalo stressed the strength and depth of relations between Sudan and the State of Qatar, noting the importance of joint coordination between the two countries on all issues in regional and international forums.
Dagalo briefed the Emir of Qatar on the stages of implementing the peace agreement that was signed with the armed struggle movements, appreciating Qatar’s efforts to achieve peace in Sudan, especially in Darfur.
Dagalo also thanked Sheikh Tamim for his country’s support for those affected by torrents and floods in Sudan, as well as its efforts to help Sudan deal with the Corona pandemic.
