Damascus condemned the “aggressive practices” of the US forces in northern Syria, and renewed the demand for its “immediate and unconditional” withdrawal from Syrian territory.
In two identical letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, the Syrian Foreign Ministry expressed its “strong condemnation of the almost daily aggressive practices carried out by the American forces within the areas they occupy on the Syrian island.”
The Foreign Ministry said that the past years witnessed “almost daily aggressive movements of the American occupation forces, from the systematic theft of Syrian wealth, agricultural crops and oil from the Syrian island, in addition to the introduction of massive, almost daily military reinforcements, logistical equipment, various weapons, equipment and military vehicles.”
She added that these moves and the aggressive behavior of the occupying American forces comes at a time when the current deceptive administration of Donald Trump, which has worked to destabilize the security and stability of Syria, has supported and encouraged separatist movements with the aim of dividing Syria and preventing a political solution in it, and provided all forms of support To terrorists. “
The Foreign Ministry added that that administration “unlimitedly supported all kinds and forms of terrorists and extremists in Syria, and worked to create and manage chaos and sought to put obstacles in the way of any political solution in Syria in the service of the Zionist project and impose hegemony on the countries of the region.”
“What the US occupation forces are doing represents a flagrant assault on the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the Syrian territories and a flagrant violation of international law and Security Council resolutions related to Syria,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry said that Syria “demands an end to these heinous, aggressive American practices, and calls on the international community to condemn the US moves and its continued occupation of Syrian lands, and its imposition of unilateral coercive economic measures aimed at starving the Syrian people.”
The Foreign Ministry concluded its two letters by renewing Syria’s demand for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the American occupation forces and their allies from the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic. It also called on the international community to “move to put an end to the approach of arrogance and aggression and end this occupation of Syrian lands,” saying that “the continuation of these American policies in the next stage will mean a challenge. To the will of the international community and to prolong the bloodshed and the absence of stability in Syria. “
