Dante’s party

It would seem that the victory of the opposition depends on Dante’s party joining and forming part of a common front to confront Morena.

Dante is letting himself be loved and for now he has made it clear that he is going to go solo in the 2024 elections and will have his own candidate for the presidency.

Dante has known how to give his party a civic identity, even if it is only in name, and he has known how to distance himself from the opposition parties, although he has always played on their side.

In the last three elections he played twice supporting López Obrador and in the last one, in alliance with the PAN and the PRD, supporting the candidacy of Ricardo Anaya.

Therefore, Dante cannot reject an alliance with the PAN, PRI and PRD because they are sold-out parties and negative for Mexico, when it has always been an alliance party.

There is no denying that Dante is playing his cards well and a party that does not reach 6% of the national vote has achieved two very important governorships, not because of the strength of his party, but because of the correct and timely selection of candidates.

For Dante, ideology is not important and he is able to make an alliance and put whoever has a chance of winning as candidates. His only interest is to win and ensure that his party continues to win political and economic spaces.

I don’t think Dante is going to decide right now what his strategy is going to be in the 2024 elections, he is going to decide at the last minute based on what is best for his party. He criticizes López Obrador, but if he goes alone in the State of Mexico or in 2024, the reality is that he is playing the game of the president and Morena.

I think that if Dante sees that the opposition alliance has a chance of winning, he will be part of it and will negotiate spaces for his party in the cabinet and in Congress, on the contrary, if he sees that the opposition has no chance of winning, surely he will go alone to make his party grow politically. Dante’s decision will depend on an electoral calculation without caring what he needs and what is convenient for the country.

Dante is going to try to sell his participation in the opposition alliance dearly, he will try to promote his own candidate first and if he wins, he will look for him to be in the final decision of the opposition’s presidential candidacy or go alone according to his decision.

He knows that if he does not arrive with a strong letter, his chances of negotiating are few, since his contribution of votes and electoral strength is much less than that of the PAN and PRI.

The opposition parties must, for the moment, forget about Dante and immediately start a strategy to strengthen their candidates, touring the country, promoting debates and proposals that go beyond permanent criticism of President López Obrador.

It is urgent that the opposition candidates openly start campaigning throughout the country as the Morena candidates are doing.
