DeAndre Ayton has been quite disappointed with the Phoenix Suns management for not finally receiving an extension of his contract for the maximum salary allowed, that is, for 5 years and approximately 173 million dollars, the newspaper reported Arizona Republic.
In recent days, negotiations between the two parties have intensified; however, the franchise owned by Robert Sarver has not wanted (for now) to provide him with that amount of money.
On the other hand, they have tied the future of his partner Mikal Bridges for 4 seasons and 90 million dollars; and that of Landry Shamet for another 4 and 43 million.
“One thing I have learned throughout my life is that I have always learned to control what you can control. At the same time I’m obviously quite disappointed, but I’m still trying to get back to the Finals again. I still have to represent my team and myself to the fullest. I am a competitor. I like to do my best and every time I am on the court is what you are going to see from me, “Ayton explained.
In his first game of the season, he has collected 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 33 minutes of play.
