De’Andre Hunter will have to undergo an operation on his right wrist. The forward suffered a joint injury in the game that played the Hawks and Warriors a week ago, and although he was able to play 21 minutes against the Nuggets last Friday, he did not fully recover. An MRI has revealed a ruptured tendon that will require surgery, which will make him miss about two months of competition.
The one from Atlanta hasn’t been exactly lucky when it comes to physical ailments. Last year he could only play 23 regular season games because of an operation on his right knee, and when he returned he had to stay on the sidelines again because of a tear in the meniscus of the same joint. Hopefully, this time he will be able to return without new problems and ready to contribute things to his team in the last months of the regular league.
So far this year, Hunter is averaging 10.8 points and shooting 39.5% on the triple. We will see if when he returns he is able to improve those benefits and help the Hawks to go as far as possible.
