The Nuggets continue in free fall. Orphaned as a boss by the absence of Nikola Jokic, the Colorado team had no option to fight last night for the victory in Portland, where they fell 119-100 and added their fifth consecutive loss.
21 minutes is how long Mike Malone’s boys stood. The coach already expressed his concern weeks ago about the great difference in the team when Jokic was on the court or not. Against the Blazers it was a new example of such a harsh scenario. A 16-0 run for the Oregonians just before halftime took them out of the game. The second part was a want and I can’t until I reach the final moments 20 points down.
That Denver loses games is not a surprise, either. Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., both of whom could miss the entire season, aren’t there either. Yes, they are missing their three best players and they need others to step up, which, even if it occurs, may be insufficient.
What was experienced at the Moda Center was such that here. JaMychal Green had a fantastic game with 24 points and Monte Morris went to 16. Also in double figures were Aaron Gordon and Will Barton, both with 11 points. It fell short, in large part because of the blazing improvement the Blazers have made in recent weeks.
Developing.
