Petr Cornelie could make his NBA debut in the 2021-22 campaign. The French player, who was chosen in the 2016 draft as number 53 by the Denver Nuggets, has signed a two-way contract Fair with the Colorado organization.
At 26, Cornelie comes to the League after a very good season in France, where he has averaged 14.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.5 rebounds in 28.9 minutes per night with theElan Bearnais. Beyond his good numbers, it stands out that he has reached 44.2% in triples, since it is a 2.08-meter power forward who can fit really well in the current NBA.
Regarding his relationship with the Nuggets, he has played up to three times in the Las Vegas Summer League between 2016 and 2018. Having played a total of 14 games, he has averaged 5.7 points and 4.4 rebounds. Of course, that version is very far from the current one. Three years have passed, he has grown as a player and has been with France at the Tokyo Olympics, where he helped win the silver medal.
With the hiring of Cornelie, Denver closes for the moment its two-day contract section for the 2021-22 campaign, since the other is occupied by Markus Howard.
