Back to black
“Back to Black” is the title of the most famous and final album in the career of the late English singer Amy Winehouse, and it is the name chosen by director Sam Taylor-Johnson, along with author Matt Green Hall, to be the title of the film that deals with the journey of the late singer’s rise until she released the famous album. In 2006, it is expected to be released next April. Winehouse's character will be portrayed on the big screen by English actress Marissa Abella, alongside Eddie Marson and Jack O'Connell.
American star Angelina Jolie returns to her fans after about 3 years of absence from the cinema, through the character of the Greek-American opera singer “Maria Klass” in a film called “Maria” by British author Steven Knight and directed by Chilean Pablo Larraín.
Larraín had previously presented experiments in biographical cinema through the two films “Spencer” in 2021, which monitored some aspects of the life of the late Princess Diana, along with “Jackie” in 2016, which dealt with the biography of former US First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, The film “Maria” reviews the successes and tragedies experienced by the world's most famous soprano.
It is expected that the film will have a major impact on the fashion scene after it is released in 2024, because Maria Class was one of the fashion icons and continues to be an inspiration for many fashion designers despite her death nearly 7 decades ago.
The biography of the Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani inspired the American actor, Johnny Depp, to return to directing again after about 27 years. His last directing experience was the film “The Brave,” which was shown in 1997.
Depp decided to give up his role as an actor and content himself with directing the movie “Modi”, which shows aspects of the life of the late artist whose character is embodied by the Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio, and co-starring with the American star Al Pacino, the French Antonia Desplat and the Italian Luisa Ranieri, and Depp is currently doing his best. To finish filming the film, he visited more than one country, including Hungary and France, so that it could be shown during the current year.
