Deputies approve the appointment of Antonio Martínez Dagnino as the new head of the SAT

The Finance and Public Credit Commission of the Chamber of Deputies approved in an extraordinary meeting –with 22 votes in favor, 15 against and no abstentions– the opinion for the ratification of the appointment so that Antonio Martinez Dagnino holds the position of head of the Tax Administration Service (SAT).

The ratification of the appointment, by the Commission, occurs almost two months after the president of Andrés Manual López Obrador informed that Antonio Martínez would occupy the place left empty by Raquel Buenrostro Sánchez.

The same Commission also approved the appointments of Gari Gevijoar Flores, as General Administrator of Collection of the SAT; Ricardo Carrasco, as General Legal Administrator; and Armando Ramírez, General Administrator of Large Taxpayers.

The opinion was turned over to the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies for its vote in plenary, which is expected to be discussed next Thursday, December 8.

During his appearance, Antonio Martínez, reported in the Chamber of Deputies that through audits of large taxpayers from 2013 to 2018, 501,133 million pesos were collected. However, the amount has been exceeded by almost 10% in the current administration.

“By strengthening our control plan with adequate knowledge of the regulatory framework and the exact application of the control procedures, 679,511 million pesos were collected in just 3 years and 10 months, which represents 9.5% more in real terms”, said the new head of the SAT.

In other words, the current administration of the SAT has already charged more than everything that was charged in the previous administration, “this means doing more with less, and in just six years trying to do the 12-year thing, we are complying with the law ahead and honestly”, explained Dagnino.
