Deputies begin discussion on the reform that disappears the Insabi

Morenista deputy Emmanuel Reyes Carmona, president of the Health Commission, presented an initiative to extinguish the Institute of Health for Well-being (Insabi) and replace it with Health Services of the Mexican Institute of Social Security for Well-being (IMSS- Well-being).

At the last moment, by majority, in the plenary session of this Tuesday, April 25 of the Chamber of Deputies, the procedures were waived, and the reform of deputy Reyes Carmona began to be discussed.

Through various reforms to the General Health Law, the legislator proposes, among other things, modifying article 7 of said law to establish that health services for people without social security will be provided by IMSS-Bienestar.

“The decentralized public body Health Services of the Mexican Institute of Social Security for Well-being (IMSS-Bienestar) is the health institution of the Mexican State in charge of providing free health services, medicines and other associated supplies for people without security social”, reads the initiative.

After presenting the project, representatives of the PAN and Movimiento Ciudadano presented motions to suspend their discussion until the reform is analyzed with more time.
