Deputies ratify Antonio Martínez Dagnino as the new head of the SAT

The Plenary of the Chamber of Deputies approved, in 1 hour and 10 minutes, the opinion of the Finance and Public Credit Commission and ratified with 242 votes in favor, 208 votes against and zero abstentions the appointment of Antonio Martínez Dagnino as the new head of the Tax Administration Service (SAT).

Likewise, the Chamber of Deputies approved the appointments of Armando Ramírez Sánchez, as General Administrator of Large Taxpayers (AGGC); Gari Gevijoar Flores Hernández González, as General Collection Administrator; and Ricardo Carrasco Varona, as General Legal Administrator of the SAT.

During the positions of each bench, Beatriz Pérez, deputy of Morena, defended the appointment of martinez dagnino and explained that under his commission in the General Administration of Large Taxpayers, the collection of large companies increased, especially in the Covid-19 pandemic.

Salvador Caro, deputy of Movimiento Ciudadano, commented on the platform that there are low profiles among the officials to be ratified by the Plenary, which is not the standard, but in his party the policy is not to be an obstacle to approval.

However, the legislator commented that there must be an order in the refunds of tax payments and in the difficulty of obtaining an appointment in the SAT. “It is opportune to demand that there be order and that these issues be addressed by the new officials,” said Caro.

PRI, PAN and PRD, against

Jericho Abramo, a PRI representative, commented that his party’s legislators will not vote in favor of the appointment of the new head of the SAT due to the overestimation of tax revenue for 2023 and because they are against fiscal terrorism.

“The PRI wishes these tax officials the best of success, but we cannot go in favor of this appointment because what was promised in terms of collection is not being fulfilled,” he commented.

Gina Campuzano, PAN deputy, explained that this is the third appointment of a new head of the SAT so far in the current administration and that it will be voted two months after the President authorized Raquel Buenrostro’s successor.

For his part, Marcelino Castañeda, a PRD representative, commented that his party cannot vote in favor to validate a strategy of fiscal terrorism.

“I acknowledge these young people, understanding that they will be ratified by the majority and congratulations that they can influence the change of direction of this government, but we will not validate this ratification,” he said.

Voting at the limit of the ordinary period

The vote for the new SAT officials took place almost at the limit of the conclusion of the regular session of the LXV legislature, which is scheduled for December 15.

In addition, the ratification in plenary took place two months and three days after President Andrés Manuel López Obrador gave the go-ahead to Martínez Dagnino as successor to Raquel Buenrostro Sánchez, who was elected to head the Ministry of Economy after Tatiana’s departure. clouthier.
