Derrick Rose has recently joined the rest of his teammates in the current visiting tour that the Knicks are leading and that has started with a tight loss against the Cavaliers.
In the press conference after the crash, his coach Tom Thibodeau stressed that his recovery is on the right track, and that he is meeting the deadlines. Rose underwent ankle surgery on December 23, and could be ready to return to the parquet after the break in All-Star Weekend, which would be around the next February 26.
“I hate to speculate on this,” Thibodeau admitted to the newspaper. NY Post. “I know that he is doing everything that we have planned and there have been no setbacks. The swelling has disappeared and he feels much better, which is what is really important, “he explained.
Before getting injured, Rose was able to play 26 official games (4 as a starter) with averages of 12 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists in 24.5 minutes per day.
“Right now he is shooting hoops stationary. He doesn’t run or jump, but he’s doing a great job in the pool.”
While the veteran point guard is finishing his return, the New Yorkers have their entire squad complete with the exception of center Mitchell Robinson, injured in the ankle against the Clippers and who is classified as «day to day«.
