The sweet moment in which Ja Morant and their Grizzlies have opened new avenues of debate in the NBA. The first of them points to the base’s debut as All-Star although some of his teammates point to much higher heights.
Desmond Bane, another of the players who has shown the best level in recent weeks, considers that Morant deserves to be part of the discussions about the best point-guard from the actuality.
“It’s special,” said the sophomore after Monday’s win over the Brooklyn Nets. “People debate whether or not he should be an All-Star but I don’t think there is any doubt that he is. The real discussion should be, is he the best point guard in the league? “
After two seasons of cooking at the same pace as the team’s own development, Morant is confirming his leap to league stardom. In the 26 games he has played so far, he averages 25.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.4 steals in 32.5 minutes.
The individual and collective results support his candidacy but the one from South Carolina insists that he is not focusing too much on a possible appearance in the Cleveland all-star rendezvous.
“Everyone who knows me, including my teammates and everyone in the organization, knows that I am a very humble but confident guy,” said Morant. So I’m going to let my teammates continue to speak for me. I’ll just go out there and do what I can to help the team by doing the right thing. “
