A desperate search is underway for two young siblings who vanished from a Melbourne train station almost 24 hours ago.
Zoe, seven, and 11-year-old Christian were last seen near the Mernda train station in the city’s northeast about 3.30pm on Monday.
The brother and sister are from Ivanhoe, about 28km from the location of their last sighting, with police and family deeply concerned for their welfare.

‘Police and family hold concerns for the children’s welfare due to their age,’ Victoria Police said in a statement.
Both children are of Sri Lankan descent.
Police are appealing for public help to find the pair and have released a description of what they were wearing when they were last seen.
‘Zoe was wearing a black and pink dress and black and pink shoes,’ Victoria Police said.
‘Christian was wearing a green and white shirt, dark denim shorts and black shoes.’
Police are urging anyone who may know the whereabouts of the children to immediately contact triple-0.
