The BMJ magazine notes that researchers came to this conclusion after studying medical follow-up data for 100,000 American women during the years 1993-2017, and compared factors that could affect health, including nutrition and lifestyle.
And it became clear to researchers that women who had repeated spontaneous abortions, as well as women who had spontaneous abortions at the beginning of the pregnancy period, were more likely to die prematurely. And that the relationship between spontaneous abortion and premature death appeared clearly in deaths due to cardiovascular disease, reaching 48%.
The researchers point out that these results show that miscarriage can be an early risk sign for women’s health, including premature death.
Experts say, “Additional studies must be conducted, in order to determine how spontaneous abortion affects the long-term health of women and the basic mechanisms of this relationship.”
