Bad news for the Memphis Grizzlies just over a week before the start of the new season. Dillon Brooks will miss the first games of the season due to a broken left hand, according to the franchise itself.
The forward had suffered this injury during training in the summer, which was not linked to any specific schedule for his full recovery. Now, the Grizzlies have reported that the player will be retested in the next two to three weeks. The Canadian had also suffered from thigh discomfort for the past few weeks.
Last season, Brooks had 17.2 points, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals in a total of 67 games, all of them as a starter. These numbers rose to 25.8 points in the playoffs, where the Grizzlies were eliminated in the first round at the hands of the Utah Jazz.
