Ahmed Muhanna, director of Al Awda Hospital in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, told Al Jazeera that the hospital is threatened with stopping work tomorrow, Saturday, if medicines, medical supplies, and fuel do not enter hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip.
Muhanna added, “I want to share with the whole world through the Al Jazeera camera the extent of the destruction that occurred to a medical facility as a result of it being subjected to brutal bombing by the Israeli occupation forces.”
He continued, “The occupation aircraft bombed the surgical department of Doctors Without Borders, which led to its complete destruction, the death of 3 doctors, and the serious injury of 2 nurses. The bombing also destroyed the hospital department and caused severe damage to other parts of the hospital.”
Muhanna stressed that, despite the Israeli bombing, the hospital continued to provide its services to the wounded and maternity cases in northern Gaza throughout the war, but it may be forced to completely stop its services as a result of the depletion of stocks of fuel, medicines, oxygen and food.
