A highly anticipated Wimbledon semi-final showdown between 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and world number one Jannik Sinner is clouded by fitness concerns for both players.
Djokovic, 37, suffered an awkward fall late in his quarter-final victory. Although he finished the match, his condition remains in question after he cancelled a practice session on Thursday without offering a definitive update.
Sinner is also managing an injury, having hurt his right elbow after a slip during his fourth-round match. The Italian later played his quarter-final against Ben Shelton with heavy strapping on the elbow.
While Sinner has insisted he will be “100% fit” for the encounter, Djokovic’s lack of a clear statement on his own fitness casts doubt over the high-stakes match.
