There are more and more startups in Mexico, to the extent that it is the second country in Latin America with the largest market, according to PWC data. These companies represent an important pillar in the national economy and the innovationsince many of them are venturing into areas of great potential such as streamingbanking, artificial intelligence, among other items.

Like all ventures, startups face challenges to grow and accelerate their innovation processes, either due to lack of knowledge or capital to invest in tools necessary for the business; however, there are currently programs that can help solve it and boost the growth of these companies.

One of them is Microsoft’s Founders HUB, a digital platform where startups can access tools such as the cloud and other administrative tools, as well as training and recommendations to better develop their project in every way.

“We want to help startups grow. Founders HUB is a program that adapts to the needs of startups, with a focus on technology to make their idea a reality. In addition to giving the possibility of consuming the power of the cloud for free, they can gain knowledge, training in technologies, learn about business practices and other recommendations to boost the startup”, Gerardo Rojas, Digital Natives Lead for Microsoft, explained in an interview with El Economista. Mexico, Caribbean and Central America.

He explained that the greatest benefit, especially for startups that are starting, is to obtain financing from 1,000 to 150,000 dollars in credit for Asure services, with which they could enhance their business strategy and better digitize themselves.

The program, he indicated, lasts from one to three yearseverything will depend on how the startup manages the given resources as well as its progress.

Since the initiative was launched a year ago, more than 200 Mexican startups have participated and have been able to better define their business models, have dealt with problems they had, and their evolution has been satisfactory in every way. The number is expected to grow from 500 to 600 in the following year.

“Many startups that said they were doing well have seen improvements and detected problems that they didn’t see before. They are stronger now.”

How to take part?

The program has an open call, so startups can access it on the date they like and take the training and benefits depending on their time.

To participate, you must meet the following requirements:

• Being a project with a digital component
• Have a development
• Have not participated in another Microsoft program

When startups are accepted, they will start at level one with a credit of $1,000, free licenses for other software and training for approximately one year. As you go through the levels, you can reach the room, where the amount received will be $150,000.

So far, there are four graduated startups that have improved their businesses and are having a positive impact on the ecosystem.

“We are interested in accompanying the graduates and creating alliances in the future,” Rojas concluded.
