Google, LLC announced a new feature within its application of ‘Google Maps’a location search tool that allows you to geolocate a specific point, calculate routes, find the closest places of interest, among other functions.

This new tool will help users to know the estimated cost of tolls within the roads of Mexico and Argentina.

Google Maps will show the estimated price of the tolls that may be on the route, before starting to navigate. In this way, people will be able to compare prices and alternatives to select the best route to undertake their trip.” reads a statement signed by Sebastián Hiernaux, regional manager of Strategic Alliances for Google Maps.

According to the company, this new function uses “reliable information” from local authorities to be able to provide this new service from the geolocation appin order that its users can calculate the cost of highway rates on each route they wish to consult.

With this new contribution, Google hopes that the users of its services will be able to choose the best option, according to their economy, to travel by road and estimate the expense which can represent a transfer in your own car, in advance.

The new function will appear automatically, once you access the Google Maps application and consult a route, defining a starting point and another destination.

In addition to sharing this novelty within the application, the main technological company subsidiary of the American Alphabet, reminds all people that Google Maps has the function of choose the best route with or without tolls:

“If the recommended route to go to an address crosses a toll road, Google Maps will try to show an alternative route without tolls as well. This will allow users always have more options”.

In the statement, the company claims to be in a constant search to contribute new information to the maps to “help people explore their countries and travel through them easily and safely.”
