The authorities in the Donetsk People’s Republic, unilaterally proclaimed in southeastern Ukraine, announced that the Ukrainian security apparatus was preparing for a resounding provocation in the Donbas region.
She pointed out that “a group of explosives experts led by officers from the State Security Administration has been working for a week in the Novotroitzkoy crossing area.”
She added, “We do not rule out that their actions are related to preparations for a provocation to try to accuse our republic of intelligence and sabotage activities.”
And she continued: “The Ukrainian security forces chose the Novotruetskoy checkpoint as a site for work because of the large gathering of civilians, which will make the provocation more resonant.”
On Monday, Donetsk announced an attempt to assassinate a leader in the republic with an explosive device that exploded in his car, describing the attempt as a “terrorist attack.”
