Dr. Anthony Facui says he still won’t dine indoors and restricts visitors into his home, despite receiving both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The 80-year-old immunologist, who currently serves as chief medical advisor to President Biden, made the revelation during an interview with NBC4 on Tuesday.
Fauci’s interview comes amid backlash against the top doctor for ‘inconsistent messaging’ over the vaccine – after he claimed it may not be safe for grandparents to visit and hug their grandchildren even after they have had the jab.
‘I still do not do dining indoors,’ Fauci told NBC4 when asked about what safety measures he is still taking after being vaccinated.
He additionally stated that he does not let visitors into his home unless they have been received the vaccine or were being tested on a very regular basis.

‘We’re still keeping what happens in my home very restricted to my wife and I,’ the doctor declared.
Fauci further claimed that he only visits the grocery store during off-peak hours and limits the number of trips he makes there.
Meanwhile, he says he is still avoiding air travel, and is cautioning Americans against pre-planning summer vacations.
‘It’s not going to be a light switch that you turn on and off… It’s going to be gradual. I would think that by the time we get to the fall, where if we do get that umbrella of herd immunity, that we will be approaching normal,’ he stated.
He stated that he still wears a mask, and recently claim that mask-wearing may be essential until partway through next year.

The vaccine is shown to be 94.1 percent effective after the second dose. Meanwhile, the Pfizer’s COVID vaccine is reported to be 95 percent effective.
But while the vaccines are effective at reducing the severity of COVID-19 symptoms, not enough research has been gathered as to whether vaccinated people can transmit the virus to those who have not had the shot.
The United States continues to lag in behind other countries in the COVID vaccine roll-out, with just 13.3 percent of residents having received their first dose.
Meanwhile, one in four surveyed earlier this month stated that they never want to get the vaccine.
Fauci has been criticized this week for his messaging about the vaccine, with some critics claiming he is putting more people off having the shots by stating that they will still have to take precautions after they are vaccinated.

Earlier this week, The View co-host Meghan McCain stated: ‘Dr. Fauci is going on CNN and he can’t tell me that if I get the vaccine I’ll be able to have dinner with my family. It’s terribly inconsistent messaging.’
She continued: ‘The idea that I can get vaccinated and I won’t be able to see friends and nothing in life changes, and we’re going to have to wear masks forever, I don’t understand the downplaying of getting the vaccine because right now we should be wanting as many Americans as possible to get a vaccine’.
McCain went on to praise how the vaccine had been rolled out in Israel where half of the country’s population has been vaccinated, however she continued to lambast the distribution plan in the United States.
McCain said that she ‘would like something to look forward to’ and dismissed the notion that vaccinated Americans can’t resume a somewhat normal life.
