Drake cancels concert at FedExForum in Memphis as organizers say it’s ‘logistically impossible to bring the show as designed’
Drake has canceled a show that was slated for Sunday at the FedExForum in Memphis over issues with ‘logistics’ at the venue.
The Toronto native, 36, had been slated to take the stage August 6 at the arena, the home of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, but ‘the organizer has cancelled the event,’ Ticketmaster said Monday, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal .
Reps for the In My Feelings vocalist, whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham, told the arena in a statement: ‘Due to the magnitude of the production of the Drake concert, it is logistically impossible to bring the show as designed to the FedExForum on August 6th. Unfortunately, the show is cancelled.’
Ticketmaster said that concertgoers will be issued refunds that ‘will be processed to the original method of payment.’
The God’s Plan performer had been slated to play a June 29 show with 21 Savage at the venue this past June as part of his It’s All a Blur Tour, but it had been postponed ahead of the event.

Drake had been in the area at the time, as he received a ceremonial key in Shelby County on June 27, according to the newspaper.
The One Dance rapper’s father is drummer Dennis Graham, who is from Memphis.
‘It’s really the first place I discovered what I love about music, which was the soul, the melody and the message in the lyrics,’ Drake said at a ceremony about the city.
There has been no mention of a potential make-up concert in the city, the outlet reported.
The Nice for What artist is slated to perform in a number of Southern cities this fall, including Atlanta, New Orleans, and Charlotte, North Carolina in September; and in Nashville in October.
In related news, another date on the rapper’s tour set for August 3 in Milwaukee at the Fiserv Forum has been pushed back a day to August 4.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Drake’s show was delayed for technical reasons related to the venue.
An email to concertgoers indicated that ‘due to the size of the production and in order to bring the entire production and the best version of the show to Milwaukee,’ the show was pushed back a day, the paper reported.

Authorities told the outlet that Cloud’s cause of death has not yet been determined, and that an investigation has been launched in connection with the death.
