By 2022 the Mexico City will begin a process of full economic growth, this derived from the fact that in 2021 reactivation measures were implemented that allowed the opening of 100% of the economic units, said the head of the Ministry of Economic Development (Sedeco) from the capital, Fadlala Akabani Hneide.
This Tuesday, the secretary detailed that there are already indicators that show that during the past year a recovery in commercial activity was generated and that at the same time guarantee a better performance for 2022.
One of them is what is registered in the Electronic System of Notices and Permits of Commercial Establishments (SIAPEM) and it is that during 2021 16,726 low-impact businesses were opened in the city.
“The opening of these establishments represents the creation of 184.32 jobs in the capital, 46,487 more than those registered in 2020, the lines that added the most jobs were offices, plazas, shopping centers and department stores, which were reactivated during the 2021 and employ a greater number of people for its operation “he indicated.
Another factor that guarantees better dynamics for this year, he said, is the implementation of the national vaccination plan, where currently most of the population is already immunized.
Openings
Fadlala Akabani pointed out that the traditional low-impact business lines that registered the most openings during 2021 were cafeterias and inns with a total of 1,678 units, while grocery and miscellaneous stores with 1,122, while food sales businesses with dining service with 1,041 turns.
Similarly, the mayors authorized the operation of 58 neighborhood impact establishments.
The mayoralties that led the opening of economic units were Cuauhtémoc with 2,439 registrations, Álvaro Obregón with 1,703, Benito Juárez with 1,585 and Iztapalapa with 1,497.
“It should be noted that SIAPEM also recorded the closure of 969 establishments, 212 less than in 2020; of which 140 expressed the pandemic as the reason for its closure “, the head of the Sedeco.
