Dutch police said they have arrested the alleged leader of an Asian drug gang on the world’s most wanted fugitive list, and has been likened to Mexican drug leader Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán.
Dutch police spokesman Thomas Alling said that Tse Chi Loeb, a Canadian citizen of Chinese descent, was arrested on Friday at the request of the Australian police, who led an investigation that concluded that his gang dominated the drug trade in Asia and the Pacific. Which amounts to $ 70 billion annually.
Alling said that Tse was expected to be extradited after his appearance before a judge, adding that the Dutch police arrested him without incident at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport.
Tse, a former convict who lived in Toronto, has traveled between Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan in recent years, according to anti-drug officers from the four regions and documents previously seen by Reuters.
