Dwayne Johnson Embraces Dramatic Challenge in The Smashing Machine

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is drawing from his childhood trauma for his role as mixed martial arts champion Mark Kerr in the new film “The Smashing Machine.” The actor confided in director Benny Safdie and co-star Emily Blunt that he was “scared” to take on the challenging part. In contrast to the film’s intense subject matter, Johnson says he now finds peace at his private fishing hole.
