Eagles confirm their playoff spot

The Eagles defeated the Giants 48-22 in cornerback James Bradberry’s first game against the team that released him last offseason.

Bradberry allowed just one catch for 7 yards and has allowed just 33 of 79 passes thrown his way to be caught (41.8%), totaling three interceptions and only one touchdown allowed. Bradberry and Darius Slay have formed the best cornerback duo of the NFL season, two great catalysts behind Philadelphia’s 12-1 start, tied with the 2004 Eagles for the best start in franchise history. It is the best team of the campaign.

The Bradberry and Slay duo have just a 48.5 passer rating on the year, allowing just three touchdowns, six interceptions and a 45.3% completion rate.

Philadelphia will return to the playoffs for the second straight season under coach Nick Sirianni and, at 12-1, remains the NFC’s top seed as it nears its first NFC East title since 2019.

The Eagles had a great start to the season with an 8-0 record, the best in franchise history. Following their only loss of the season in Week 10 to the Washington Commanders.

The Eagles defensive line has been pressing at a consistent high level for nearly two months. With seven sacks Sunday, and the Giants only pitching 27 times, the team now has 32 sacks in the last seven games. That’s tied for the most sacks in franchise history in any seven-game span: The 1989 team had 32 from Week 2 through Week 8. The pressure is on all sides and lately no one has been able to stop it.
