At its 20th-anniversary celebration at San Diego Comic-Con, Nickelodeon unveiled the first look at “Avatar: Seven Havens,” a new animated series set to follow “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “The Legend of Korra.”
The series introduces a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. It centers on twin Earthbenders, one of whom discovers she is the new Avatar to succeed Korra. In this perilous new era, the title marks her as humanity’s potential destroyer rather than its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins to save the Seven Havens, civilization’s last remaining strongholds.
The first-look image depicts the young Avatar traversing a rocky desert landscape with a companion and a creature resembling a cross between a cat and a lemur. In the background, a distant city sits under a sky filled with mysterious lights.
The reveal occurred during a 20th-anniversary panel featuring franchise creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino, composer Jeremy Zuckerman, and original voice actors Janet Varney (Korra), Mae Whitman (Katara), Zach Tyler Eisen (Aang), Jack De Sena (Sokka), Michaela Jill Murphy (Toph), Jennie Kwan (Suki), Dante Basco (Zuko), and Dee Bradley Baker (Appa).
“Seven Havens” is one of several upcoming projects expanding the franchise. A feature film, “The Legend of Aang: The Last Avatar,” is slated for theatrical release on October 9, 2026. The film’s cast includes Eric Nam as Aang, Jessica Matten as Katara, Roman Zaragoza as Sokka, and Dionne Quan as Toph, with Dave Bautista and Steven Yeun voicing a mysterious villain.
