Eddie Hearn brands quality of Tyson Fury’s opponents ‘laughable’ compared to heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua’s fighting CV

- British heavyweight pair are on collision course in contest all fans want to see
- AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn believes Fury’s past opponents do not measure up
- He said: ‘I mean it’s laughable when you compare the two resumes’
Tyson Fury‘s fighting CV is ‘laughable’ compared with Anthony Joshua‘s, claimed Eddie Hearn.
AJ’s promoter made a dig at the ‘Gipsy King’ and drew attention to the fact that Joshua has faced superior opposition in his career thus far.
Both British heavyweights are on a collision course having agreed in principle to a two-fight deal next year.

AJ’s promoter believes his man has fought far superior opposition to the ‘Gipsy King’
Hearn told Sky Sports: ‘It makes me laugh when people look at AJ’s resume. Maybe I’m seeing something other people don’t?
‘I mean Dillian Whyte, Dominic Breazeale, Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin, Carlos Takam previously that I missed out, Andy Ruiz, Kubrat Pulev.
‘These are consecutive fights. You don’t see Tom Schwarz, Otto Wallin, Sefer Serferi. Who is the other geezer? I can’t even remember his name, the Italian bloke? And then Agit Kabayel.
‘I mean it’s laughable when you compare the two resumes, but it’s in black and white for everyone to see.’
Joshua is preparing to face Kubrat Pulev but is expected to meet Fury in the ring in 2021
Fury appeared to rule out a fight before the end of the year against Kabayel and said he is returning in 2021 while Joshua is defending his world titles against mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev on December 12.
Fury has entered into a mediation process with Deontay Wilder after failing to agree terms on a trilogy fight and it may yet take some time to be resolved, giving Joshua the chance to fight again after Pulev before he faces his domestic rival.
Oleksandr Usyk recently became AJ’s WBO mandatory challenger and Hearn confirmed that his man would not duck that contest.
He added: ‘Anthony will fight anybody, and now he’s doing it again, and that’s why when you talk about Usyk, he will fight Usyk no problems at all, but he wants to fight Tyson Fury.
‘He wants to prove he’s the best heavyweight in the world and undisputed or not, we will do everything we can to make sure it is. Not one person can have any doubt after that fight, who the baddest man on the planet is.’
