The Egyptian Public Prosecution referred the chief judge, after he was dismissed from the judiciary, and 13 other defendants, including Iraqis, to criminal trial before the Criminal Court.
The prosecution accused the accused “of establishing and joining a gang specialized in trafficking and drug promotion inside Egypt, possession of firearms and ammunition without a license and possession of narcotic substances with the intention of trafficking and abuse in circumstances other than those legally authorized, as well as committing forgery crimes in official documents, within the governorates of Cairo and Giza, in During 2019 and 2020. “
The case included “3 defendants from the State of Iraq, and the rest are Egyptians, headed by a dismissed chief of the court in Assiut, who was authorized by the Supreme Judicial Council of the Public Prosecution to take legal action against him. The total number of defendants in the case is 14, including 10 defendants imprisoned and 4 fugitives.”
