The National Institute for Astronomical Research in Egypt confirmed that the stations of the national network recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.8 on the Richter scale at a distance of 20 km south of Giza at six and nineteen minutes in the evening.
The head of the institute, Gad Muhammad al-Qadi, indicated that he had not received any report of losses or injuries to the institute.
This was not the first earthquake to occur in Giza during the last period, as an earthquake occurred on June 28, 2020.
On the other hand, and to coincide with this earthquake, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Authority reported, today, Thursday, that an earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale occurred in central Greece.
The authority stated that the epicenter of the earthquake was 29 kilometers northwest of the city of Larissa.
