Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Egyptian Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, announced that her country will sign an agreement with the Chinese company “Sinovac” to start manufacturing Coronavirus vaccines in Egypt and exporting them to African countries.
Zayed’s statements came during a press conference held in the presence of the Chinese ambassador to Egypt, Liao Li Zhang, during which she said that Egypt will manufacture Corona virus vaccines through the Holding Company for Biological Preparations and Vaccines “Vacsera”, explaining that the World Health Organization had sent international experts to evaluate the performance of the company’s factories. .
The minister also added in her statements that her country will also sign an agreement with the Chinese company “Sinopharma” to buy doses of the vaccine and vaccinate Egyptian citizens, as the vaccine has proven effective in confronting the virus.
Zayed pointed to the Sino-Egyptian relations, which have witnessed a lot of development and cooperation, especially in light of the outbreak of the pandemic, stressing that Egypt is seeking to participate in the third phase of clinical trials of 17 Chinese vaccines in the research phase, “for the sake of humanity.”
